Bahia Meloneras a shallow Reef with Beautiful Marine Life

 

Bahia Meloneras is a popular spot for beginners and those who want to do their first exploration dive. This shallow reef is also perfect for practicing the rescue course. It's located in the bay of Meloneras and can be accessed from the beach in Pasito Blanco.

 

During a try-out dive, you can see a lot of octopus, cuttlefish, rays, and other small fishes. However, the real treat starts from August when butterfly rays come to this area during their mating season that can last up to two months. If you're lucky, you can spot around 30 of these rays, which can get up to 2 meters wide. It's an extraordinary experience to see them this shallow in the water. Be careful, though, as they can get really close or even bump into you!

 

If the weather allows, the dive company tries to spend some time in between the two dives in this area so you can snorkel with these magnificent creatures. It's an experience you'll never forget!.​
