Enroll in the PADI Search and Recovery Specialty Course and discover the techniques and equipment for effective and safe search and recovery operations. The PADI Search and Recovery Specialty Course is designed for divers who want to learn how to plan and execute search and recovery missions in a controlled and safe environment. During the course, you will learn how to use specialized search patterns, tools, and techniques to locate and retrieve lost objects, such as cameras, anchors, or even sunken boats. You will also learn how to deal with entanglement, entrapment, and other potential hazards during search and recovery operations. The course includes a knowledge development section that you can complete online at your own pace before meeting with your instructor for four open water dives. During the dives, you will practice the skills and techniques learned in the classroom, such as navigation, buoyancy control, and communication, in realistic scenarios. You will also learn how to handle and use lifting bags, slings, and reels, and how to avoid damaging the environment or disturbing the marine life. Once you complete the course, you can apply your search and recovery skills and knowledge to different diving contexts, such as wreck diving, salvage operations, or environmental cleanups. Our hotel collections typically start around 9:15 am, but this may vary slightly depending on your location. From there, we will drive to the diving site and begin our diving excursions. After completing the dives, we will return to the starting point and transport you back to your hotel around 14:30pm. Please note that the return time may vary depending on the location.
